Main Street District Open Forum
June 9, 2025 | 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.
Location: Arlington City Building, 202 W Elm St.
Event Overview
Downtown sets the tone for all of Arlington. This open forum invites business owners, landlords, residents, and anyone invested in our Main Street’s future to weigh in on a proposed “Main Street Commercial” overlay district. We’ll outline the concept, share examples from similar towns, and hand the floor to you for questions, ideas, and concerns. Your feedback will shape the ordinance and programs moving forward.
Event Highlights
- Key challenges: vacant storefronts, ground‑floor apartments, self‑storage conversions
- Overview of the proposed Main Street Commercial overlay & timeline
- Open microphone Q & A and stakeholder discussion
Why Attend?
- Protect Local Commerce: Keep spending and tax revenue circulating downtown.
- Preserve Community Identity: Main Street is Arlington’s “front porch.”
- Prevent Piecemeal Decline: Address conversions that erode foot traffic.
